FAIR Health Receives 2015 eHealthcare Leadership Gold Award

Recognized for Fourth Consecutive Year

On November 11, 2015, Strategic Health Care Communications recognized the English and Spanish-language versions of FAIR Health’s consumer website with a Gold award at its 19th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, held in Orlando, FL. This is the fourth consecutive year FAIR Health’s site was honored by the organization.    
A national, independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to bringing transparency to healthcare costs and health insurance information, FAIR Health uses its database of more than 19 billion privately billed medical and dental services to power its free website (English) and (Spanish) that enables healthcare consumers to estimate the cost of medical and dental care. FAIR Health’s website complements the cost estimation tools with a variety of educational articles, videos, and glossaries to provide consumers with fundamental knowledge of the workings of health insurance and reimbursement.  FAIR Health also offers these resources as a mobile app--FH® Cost Lookup (English) and FH® CCSalud (Spanish)—available for download through the App Store and Google Play.  More information about the app is available here.

According to Strategic Health Care Communications, a broad spectrum of healthcare organizations were selected from nearly 1,000 entries to receive recognition for their outstanding websites and digital communications. Winners represented 16 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies.  Judges looked at how websites and digital communications compared with others in their organization’s classification.  They also reviewed entries based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. 
“This is an incredibly exciting time in healthcare marketing and ehealth, a fact clearly reflected in this year’s award entries,” said Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. 
The healthcare sector has consistently recognized the importance and effectiveness of FAIR Health’s consumer website; in addition to its multiple eHealthcare Leadership Awards, FAIR Health has received accolades from the White House, AHRQ, URAC, AppPicker and other organizations. 
“An essential part of FAIR Health’s mission is to provide the public with free access to reliable healthcare cost information and consumer-friendly educational resources in order to increase healthcare literacy and help consumers navigate through their health coverage,” stated FAIR Health President Robin Gelburd. “It is gratifying to receive affirmation from the healthcare sector that our consumer tools are informative and easy to use.”
